Welcome to Services 2020
Services 2020 is a research project of the Smart Services Cooperative Research Center (CRC).
The purpose of the Services 2020 project is to discover trends and future breakthroughs related to the use of ICT with an impact on services and the service economy in Australia, and communicate these findings to research participants and the broader public.
The project uses and innovates foresight methods augmented by web 2.0 and online strategies to develop an understanding of the issues and challenges facing Australian service industries in collaboration with industry, government and academic participants.
We examine key changes in e-government services, changes to business enterprises influenced by peer-to-peer strategies, the impacts of broad global issues on ICT (e.g. environmental, political and economic), and impacts and contributions of emerging online services to social change.
Our reports cover areas such as the futures of TV, the futures of e-government services, challenges to the service sector in Australia, and corporate foresight.
Take a look at our videos to get a glimpse that some thought-provoking scenarios for the futures of services in Australia, and an explanation of how to think about the social ecology of the service sector.
Read through our e-report "Dimensions of Change and Transformation Relating to Online Services" to expand your awareness about social changes related to our emerging “cybernetic civilization”.
